Scott Donnell comes from a family of creative
minds. His grandfather was a satire cartoonist for the Tri City Herald in Richland
Washington during the 1940's and his father is a painter, sculptor and high school
art teacher. Scott continues in their footsteps combining his natural artistic
ability with his knowledge of marketing to create compelling advertising and graphic
design.
Scott
earned a degree in Marketing from Oregon State University
in 1988. After plunging headlong into the post college
work world as a manager for an outdoor sports retailer,
he soon realized that he could put his artistic
skills to work in the form of advertising creative.
He became an in-house advertising coordinator and
one-man publisher of an annual mail-order catalog.
It wasn't long before he bought his own Mac, learned
to use Adobe Photoshop and various layout software
programs and began to venture out on his own as
a freelance graphic artist. He learned to work under
the pressure of deadlines when he went to work as
a production artist for a weekly newspaper. As the
Internet began to develop, and the dotcom wave began
to build Scott went to work full time for Multimedia
Marketing Group, (MMG) a national online marketing
firm, where he learned how to translate his print
design skill to the web. He developed online advertising,
rich media and HTML email campaigns to help national
clients reach their target markets. Scott worked
his way up to senior designer and soon managed of
the MMG graphics dept. When MMG was eventually purchased
by Outrider North America, Inc. part of the UK-based
Tempus Group, a multi-national media and communications
enterprise, Scott decided it was time to move forward
on his own. He is now working as a creative consultant
and running his own freelance graphic design firm,
Donnell Design. |
